CORROSION PREVENTATIVE

 

DESCRIPTION

 

PRODUCTO RI-625 is a water-based corrosion inhibitor designed for the prevention of rust on cast iron and steel during storage and shipping.

 

APPLICATION

 

PRODUCTO RI-625 is specifically designed for protecting bare metal areas of parts, tubing, piping, and equipment. It can be applied in a spray, dip or misting application. It may also be used as a rust inhibitor additive in an high pressure spray washer to boost rust inhibition of a process cleaner. It can be diluted with water in any proportion and can be used to treat wet parts.

 

FEATURES & BENEFITS

 

PRODUCTO RI-625 will not leave an oily or tacky film on treated surfaces. The residue is a thin clear film which will not affect the appearance or characteristics of the metal surface and is not generally visible to the eye. It is readily soluble in water.

 

NOTE FOR USE

 

For optimal rust prevention during shipment or storage of parts, allow products to dry completely prior to packaging or stacking. Always test the product in advance to confirm that it meets required performance standards for your operations.

 

RECOMMENDED STARTING DILUTIONS

 

PRODUCTO RI-625 is to be mixed with water for use. Always add concentrate to water. Add no other materials to the concentrate or mix unless approved by your CIMCOOL® District Manager.

 

Spray or Misting	10% (1:10) Ambient to 140°F
Dip or Immersion	10% - 20% (1:10 to 1:5) Ambient to 140°F
Spray Washers	2% - 5% (1:50 to 1:20) Ambient to 140°F
Storage	10% - 50% (1:10 to 1:2) Ambient to 140°F

 

CONCENTRATION

 

A Total Alkalinity Procedure, CIMCHEK™ Test Strip or Refractometer can be used to test concentration. A refractometer is only recommended for use in checking the concentration of a fresh charge.

 

The Refractometer Factor is 4.2

 

Multiply the scale reading obtained on your CIMCOOL® Refractometer by this factor to obtain the mix concentration in percent. Calibrate the refractometer so that it reads 0.0 with water before testing the sample mix. Remove gross contaminants from the sample mixes before testing.

HANDLING and STORAGE

 

If frozen, thaw completely at room temperature prior to use. Inside storage is recommended.
