SOLVENT-BASED CORROSION PREVENTIVE

 

DESCRIPTION

 

CIMGUARD 20 is a general purpose solvent based corrosion preventive. It has water displacing properties and is a fingerprint neutralizer. The protective coating is semi-hard and transparent.

 

APPLICATION

 

CIMGUARD 20 protects all ferrous and non-ferrous metals during processing, indoor storage and wrapped shipment (up to 18 months).

 

CIMGUARD 20 is a “natural” for the bearing industry. Finished bearings can be dipped in CIMGUARD 20 to displace water-based metalworking fluids and provide corrosion protection of the highly finished parts during wrapped shipment. It can also be used for automotive parts and other precision and semi-precision parts.

VERSATILE:

 

CIMGUARD 20 rapidly displaces water from metal surfaces leaving a continuous polar protective film between the metal and water.

 

CIMGUARD 20 is applied with in-process spray or dip tank application where fluid run-off is collected for reuse; water will settle quickly to the bottom of the rust preventive reservoir. The water can then be drained periodically from the bottom.

 

CIMGUARD 20 can be applied to wet or dry parts. It neutralizes fingerprint residues and protects ferrous and non-ferrous metals from corrosion.

 

RECOMMENDED STARTING DILUTIONS

 

CIMGUARD 20 is to be used as is. Add no other materials to the concentrate unless approved by your CIMCOOL® District Manager.

HANDLING AND STORAGE

 

If frozen, thaw completely at room temperature prior to use. Inside storage is recommended.

 

Long term storage in plastic totes is not recommended, best if used within 3 months.
